At Revive Health, we specialize in treating patients with pre-existing conditions. This is one of the MAJOR advantages of a medically supervised weight loss program. We work closely with your healthcare team as needed to ensure that we design the best plan to address all health concerns safely. We can also assist in safely adjusting any necessary medications as you lose weight. Don't be surprised if you no longer need some of your previous prescriptions!

Unfortunately, due to current Medicare rules and regulations, we are unable to provide services to patients enrolled in Medicare at this time. This is true regardless of ability to pay cash for services and prescriptions and regardless of any current supplemental plan. We hope to be able to offer services to patients enrolled in Medicare in the near future, so please continue to check back for any changes!
-
Absolutely. All patients are required to have an initial in-person appointment. After this, appointments can be completed through telehealth if preferred, as long as patients have access to a scale and blood pressure monitor at home.
-
If medication is prescribed, the length of time used will be determined by ongoing conversations with your doctor. A rule of thumb is, if the medicine is working, you should continue using it. This is no different than taking a medication to treat elevated blood pressure or mood, for example. However, at Revive Health, our goal is to assist you in creating the lifestyle changes that help you guide this decision when you are ready.
-
NO, your medications are not covered by your visit fee. Any prescriptions written at Revive Health will be sent to your pharmacy where you will pick them up and pay any balance not covered by your prescription insurance.

We work hard to make weight loss medications as affordable as possible for our patients, while still providing name-brand and FDA- approved medication options.
We begin by running prescriptions through insurance first to minimize out-of-pocket costs. For most patients, the available oral weight loss medications typically cost $25/month or less. If insurance covers injectable weight loss medications, these costs can be similar.
For patients choosing to pay out of pocket for name-brand, FDA-approved injectable weight loss medications, costs can be as low as $100/month. This allows many individuals to access safe and effective treatment without needing to rely on less-regulated compounded medication options.
-
If you are desiring medications, please verify that you are a candidate for medications that assist with weight loss prior to scheduling your initial consultation appointment.
Although we are happy to assist patients of any weight, for medication to be considered, BMI must be greater than 30 OR BMI greater than 27 WITH a weight-related physical health condition (example: high blood pressure, sleep apnea, pre-diabetes).
Upon scheduling your first appointment, you will be sent an email to create your patient portal. Once you have set up your patient portal, you will complete initial check-in questionnaires so we can be prepared for your appointment.

If you are a new patient to Dr. Schmitz, the initial one hour consultation fee is $149. At this time, your unique weight and health history will be reviewed. This includes your individual medical, surgical and family history, as well as any current medications. We will explore your personal health goals, weight history, and begin to discuss a treatment plan tailored to you.
To confirm your upcoming visit, we kindly ask you to enter your payment card details during the final step of the online booking process or at the time of scheduling. Your card will be charged $149 prior to your initial consultation.
After your initial consultation, you are invited to join our comprehensive 24 week weight loss program. When you enroll, your consultation fee will be applied to the total program cost.

Unfortunately, many insurance companies still do not cover clinic visits for weight loss services. For this reason, we do not bill insurance directly through our office at this time. Services such as lab, dietician visits, and therapy services can be processed through insurance, however. Medications are generally processed through insurance at your local pharmacy as well. Patients can, and many do, use their Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) or Health Savings Accounts (HSA) to pay for their weight loss services. We are also able to provide an invoice for patients to submit to insurance for out-of network reimbursement when available (this is referred to as a Superbill).
*If you are enrolled in Medicare, please see above.

It is now well proven and understood that obesity is a chronic disease - this means ongoing monitoring and management is imperative for lasting success. Revive Health has a program to support all patients, including those who have experienced previous success through lifestyle changes, surgery, or medications, regardless of any current struggles or barriers they may be facing.

You are never pressured or required to use medication to assist with weight loss. If this is an option you are interested in discussing, however, Dr. Schmitz will help determine if and which medication may be helpful for you after assessing a number of factors such as age, pre-existing conditions, lifestyle, and weight loss goals.
