  • And more!

What to expect at your first visit:

Your initial consultation will last approximately 1 hour and occurs in-person at our clinic location. During this visit, you will be introduced to our comprehensive weight loss program, designed to distinguish us from others in the field. We will take the time to discuss your unique weight and health history including:

  • Your medical, surgical, and family history

  • Your current medications (please bring all current medications/supplements with you)

  • Your health goals

  • Past weight loss attempts

  • Initial nutritional and exercise recommendations

  • Review whether weight loss medications may be indicated and helpful for you. (Prescribed at first follow up appointment if desired)

  • Discuss any questions or concerns you may have

  • Schedule your follow-up appointment

Upon scheduling your first appointment, you will be sent an email to create your patient portal. Once you have set up your patient portal, you will complete initial check-in questionnaires so we can be prepared for your appointment.

After your initial consultation:

After your initial consultation, you are invited to join our 24 week weight management program. Dr. Schmitz will see you back 1-2 weeks following your initial visit to further customize a personalized treatment plan for you. At that time, she can also help choose the best medication for you, if desired. Follow up appointments will then occur monthly and are designed to build upon one another, ensuring steady progress and maximizing results over time. Between scheduled visits, our clinic team is available through a convenient text-based messaging system, making it easy for you to communicate directly with us for any questions, concerns, or support. As our clinic prides itself on offering greater accessibility than most, this also allows us to work closely with your current healthcare team. As you lose weight, we can assist by adjusting any previously prescribed medications as needed to ensure your treatment plan remains safe and optimal.

Following completion of the 24 week program, patients may choose to sign up for an additional 24 week weight loss program if desiring additional weight loss, or transition to the Weight Maintenance Program. The Weight Maintenance Program (costing as low as $135/month) continues to incorporate lifestyle guidance, physician-supervised care, and continued prescription monitoring with less frequent follow up appointments aimed at preventing weight-regain. Just as managing other chronic health conditions requires a plan and ongoing monitoring, so does maintaining your new weight. Your long-term success is of great importance to us and participation in the Weight Maintenance Program is the best way to achieve this!
